The National University of Computer Studies (NUCS) is a Self-Administrative University officially recognized and established under the authority of the Ministry of Education of the National Unity Government.

Since the 2021 military coup, 'the Universities of Computer Studies–Interim Board of Education (UCS-iBoE)' was organized, and in 2024, it was formally established as a university.

Starting from October 2024, NUCS has been offering continued education opportunities to students from Universities of Computer Studies across Myanmar, University of Information Technology (UIT), IT-related Universities including Myanmar Institute of Information Technology (MIIT) and University of Technology (Yadanabon Cyber City) (UTYCC) — whose studies were disrupted due to COVID-19 and the military coup. . . .

Beginning with the 2023–24 academic year, NUCS also accepts and teaches first-year students who applied through the University Entrance Selection Board under the Ministry of Education of the National Unity Government of Myanmar.
