English Vocabulary in Use (Elementary), 3rd Edition

Course Description

The vocabulary course focuses not only on single words but also on useful phrases and collocations. It guides students from a very basic vocabulary level to a point where they can use approximately 2,000 words and phrases, introducing around 1,250 new items selected for their relevance in everyday situations.

The grammar course is designed primarily for elementary students who have moved beyond the early stages of a beginners’ course. It is also suitable for low-intermediate learners whose grammar is weaker than other aspects of their English, or who need to address specific areas of basic grammar.

The New Headway (5th Edition) component employs a blended syllabus that connects classroom learning with meaningful practice outside the classroom. Every unit develops the four skills alongside grammar and vocabulary, helping students build well-rounded communicative competence.

Learning Objectives

  1. Enable students to use a wide range of vocabulary in everyday contexts.
  2. Develop a sound command of English grammar at the elementary level.
  3. Build the ability to communicate effectively in English across a variety of real-world situations.

Learning Outcomes

  • Use a wide range of vocabulary accurately and appropriately.
  • Demonstrate a good command of English grammar at the elementary level.
